The Little Book of Living
Come with me on a journey. Open these pages and we will walk through gardens, explore the woods, and sit in comfortable chairs, collecting ideas and recollecting past times that tickle our imagination, touch our hearts, and heal our souls.
Change is a constant and all living beings learn to adapt to it. Maybe a thunderstorm threatens, or we face a traumatic change of circumstances. Over the years, I found nature teaches and inspires, helping me discover the beauty and starlight that touches my heart.
I invite you to linger in these thoughts and images, to share my travels, and to contemplate my experiences. Perhaps they’ll provide a mirror on your life, suggest a new perspective, or simply make you laugh.
Life is full of joy − let’s share it.

About Jo
“There is a place between here and there, a space between now and then. In that place the tale is told, and in that space a child suspends reliance on what is believed to be real. Then truth collides with fantasy. The result is a bewitching magic...”
Jo DeMars spent three decades as the owner of a dispute settlement firm. She co-authored two books in her professional field and spoke at international conferences. Disputes, resolutions, acceptance, and changing perspectives became themes in her life – as a child, sibling, mother, spouse, and widow. Having escaped the business world, Jo began writing Middle Grade fiction. She enjoys writing stories about people who work through hard times and emerge stronger. The Wisconsin Writers Association recognized her work in the 2020 Jade Ring contest. The Little Book of Living is her first compilation of reflections. Jo and her small black dog divide their time between Wisconsin and Arizona.
